The first priority was improving the sealing system around the valve and related connections.
We equipped the fiberglass sand filters with SS304 oil-filled pressure gauges as a standard configuration. The oil-filled design helps provide more stable and precise pressure readings, enabling installers and end users to monitor filter operating conditions more clearly.
We also used thick, high-resilience premium O-rings to strengthen the sealing performance of the valve head. A filter's valve assembly may look similar across suppliers, but small differences in O-ring material, thickness, elasticity, and fit can significantly affect leakage resistance over time.
For sealing gaskets, we specified EPDM rubber. EPDM is selected for its chlorine resistance, aging resistance, and long-term flexibility. In contrast, lower-grade standard rubber can harden, lose elasticity, and crack after extended exposure to pool chemicals and changing temperatures. By using a more resilient material, the client gained a more durable barrier against leakage-related warranty claims.
The customer also wanted installers to be able to clearly assess the backwash process. Standard sight glasses can be too small or made from low-clarity material, making it difficult to judge whether the discharged water has become clean.
Poolking used a high-transparency sight glass with an enlarged viewing area. This gives operators a clearer view of the backwash condition, supporting more confident maintenance decisions and a better user experience for professional installers.
Although this may appear to be a minor accessory upgrade, it matters to distributors. Better visibility reduces uncertainty during installation and maintenance, while also improving how professional users perceive the overall quality of the pool sand filter system.
The filter base is another area where manufacturing discipline matters. Poorly integrated or roughly finished bases can expose fiberglass fibers, create uneven surfaces, and increase the risk of leakage around connections.
